5 September 2007 Libraries to receive the Credo Reference service at a discount Boston and London, September 5, 2007 – Credo Reference (formerly Xrefer), provider of customizable online reference collections, is pleased to announce another partnership with a key consortium: The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI).
With this new agreement, the CARLI institutions choosing to subscribe will receive Credo Reference at a discount. Credo Reference features full-text, cross-searchable content covering every major subject, from over 270 titles and 57 publishers. The content is enriched with images, sound files, animations, maps and customizable data tables, providing users with accurate, contextual results.
Seventeen CARLI libraries have already taken advantage of the offer and subscribed to Credo’s Ready-Reference collection, including such diverse institutions as: Illinois College, Illinois Math and Science Academy, North Park University, Olivet Nazarene University and Northeastern Illinois University.
The librarians at the participating institutions are already praising the service. “I am pleased that CARLI has partnered with Credo Reference to make this resource available to our libraries,” commented Dave Green, Associate University Librarian for Collections and Information Services at Northeastern Illinois University’s Ronald Williams Library. “My colleagues and I see this as a valuable enhancement for our collection and services.”
“We’re pleased that the CARLI libraries are able to access Credo Reference’s full-text, cross-searchable content,” added Jeffrey LaPlante, Credo Reference’s Senior Vice President of Sales. “Patrons at the participating Illinois institutions will now be able to experience a continually-enhanced research experience – especially since Credo Reference is constantly expanding its offerings.”
