The Bridgeman Art Library and Credo Reference have collaborated to offer a fascinating and important specialist selection of images relating to the history of medicine and science.

Images range from military surgery to medical instruments throughout the ages. Scientific scenes and subjects cover personalities, equipment, inventions, processes and portraits of important pioneers. The range also encompasses astronomy, charts, diagrams, geology and the medicine and science of world cultures and ancient civilisations. There are portraits of personalities such as Dr Johnson and Galileo, as well as Sir Humphrey Davy's notebooks, medicinal plants, portrayals of diseases and anatomy.
