Credo Reference Builds on Successes Across the U.K.

Workshops Energise Attendees, Inspire Collaboration

June 6, 2012 – Oxford – Credo Reference will be meeting and collaborating with librarians throughout the UK, through a unique series of workshops as well as  participation in the CILIPS and CILIP ARLG conferences.

Now in their third year, the workshops aim to facilitate cross-sector networking and provide an opportunity for attendees to learn and share best practices on increasing usage and promoting their library most effectively.  More than 80 people participated in Credo’s May workshops in Bristol, Plymouth, Stockton on Tees and Guildford prompting at least one participant to tweet that the event was  “the most useful thing I’ve attended in months.”

Building on the success of Literati by Credo, the company will be running focus groups in Dundee, Glasgow, Sheffield and Preston during the month of June to share plans and gather feedback from librarians.

“Credo Reference has always been about helping libraries to get the most out of their total resource investment,” commented Anne Kail, Credo Reference Evangelist. “These workshops come out of our commitment to helping libraries to raise their profile and grow usage, especially when so many are being called on to justify their very existence."

Credo will be exhibiting at the CILIPS conference in Dundee, Scotland 10-12 June and at the CILIP ARLG Conference in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England 25-27 June.  For information on forthcoming events see http://corp.credoreference.com/company/news-and-events/forthcoming-events.html
