Credo Named 2013 SIIA Content CODiE Award Winner

Literati Public Earns Prestigious Content Industry Recognition

February 1, 2013, Boston, Oxford – Credo, the industry leader for information skills solutions, today announced that Literati Public was named a winner for the 2013 SIIA CODiE Awards for Best General Reference Service. Winners represent the information industry’s best products, technologies and services created by or for media, publishers and information services providers.

The Literati solution includes a combination of authoritative reference content, technology that enhances discovery and connects learners with librarians and educators and customizable services that help promote digital and information literacy.

The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, announced Credo as a CODiE Award content winner.

“Credo has been working closely with librarians, publishers, educators and technology partners to build a solution that addresses information skills and improves outcomes.  These skills are critical to problem solving and critical thinking, which are necessary to achieving academic, professional and personal success,” said Mike Sweet, Credo’s CEO. “The SIIA CODiE Awards are the most esteemed in the software and information industry, and we share our CODiE with all of our customers and partners who helped to make Literati Public a winner.”

For 13 years Credo has executed against a strategy that foundational reference content, interconnectivity with other library resources, and institution-specific customization options are core to helping libraries and other organizations effectively increase the information skills of their patrons.  In addition to Literati Public, which has gained tremendous acceptance in the market including the entire state of Virginia, Credo offers information skills solutions to schools, academic institutions and student athlete programs.

“We are especially pleased with the high-caliber of this year’s CODiE Award winners. The products selected as finalists stand as a testament to the dedication finalist companies have not only to meet, but also to exceed their customer and partner expectations,” noted SIIA Vice President for the Content Division, Kathy Greenler Sexton. “This was an extremely competitive year for the Content CODiE Awards.”

Winners were announced during a special Awards luncheon on January 31 in New York City during the SIIA’s annual flagship conference for information industry leaders, IIS 2013: Breakthrough.

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program. The first round review of all nominees is conducted by media, publishing, and information services executives with considerable industry expertise, including members of the industry, analysts, media and bloggers, and bankers and investors. The judges are responsible for selecting the CODiE Awards finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products and scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.

About the SIIA CODiE™ Awards

The SIIA CODiE™ Awards were established in 1986 by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), so that pioneers of the then-nascent software industry could evaluate and honor each other’s work. Since then, the CODiE Awards program has carried out the same purpose – to celebrate the software and information industry’s finest products and services.
